The next Ōrākei Community Association Community Forum is coming up on Monday 15 June at Akarana Marine Centre — and this is the one we need the community to turn up for.
This free evening brings residents, local leaders and key agencies together in one room to discuss the issues, projects and opportunities shaping Ōrākei.
We’ll begin from 5.30pm with snacks, canapés and time to connect, followed by a short OCA AGM and a focused community forum with updates from local representatives, Auckland Transport, Kāinga Ora and others.
There will be a cash bar available, and the event itself is free — but registration is essential so we can confirm numbers with the venue.
Please register on the OCA website now, and encourage your neighbours, friends and whānau to do the same.

AGM note:The evening will include a brief OCA AGM as part of the forum, covering the annual report and accounts, committee confirmations/nominations and proposed rule changes. We will keep this section concise so the main focus remains on the community forum and local updates.
Forum programme copy:The forum will include updates from Deputy Mayor / Councillor Desley Simpson, Ōrākei Local Board Chair Sarah Powrie, Auckland Transport, Kāinga Ora, and local property market representatives John Campbell and Jane Horgan.
Auckland Transport will be an important part of the evening, with a particular focus on the Ngaiwi / Ngāpipi roundabout installation, along with updates on Ōrākei Basin Boardwalk Section 3 and Hobson Bay Boardwalk Section 4. There will also be time for curated community questions.
We will also strive to have further local updates on other issues residents are asking about, including the RSA site, the possible Farro opening at the Kupe Street shops, and other local development and community matters as information becomes available.
